SOLASTALGIA

Tickets
The grass reaches your knees. You are surrounded by wilderness. A women beckons you. Now it’s your turn to get picked up. As the sun sets over Sydhavnstippen, the woman transports you into a new world.
SOLASTALGIA transports you to a near future. With Sydhavnstippen as the all-encompassing scenography, you are guided around by a nomadic group called Arcadia, which has created an alternative world after a societal collapse. SOLASTALGIA is a sci-fi vocal work of wild growing voices, and takes place at dusk in one of Copenhagen’s few wild and partially protected natural areas. An alpaca or a dog walker can suddenly play a supporting role. Each evening is unique, and the audience is guided in groups, ending up with different experiences.
SOLASTALGIA is an anxiety diagnosis. An existential yearning that arises when we experience negative environmental changes happening in places where we feel at home. A piercing longing for ‘home’. The characters are inspired by so-called laments. Women whose professional work was to appear at funerals and sing the grief, anger and demons out. In SOLASTALGIA they sing of longing for home. Come and let yourself be carried away.

Do you remember SOLASTALGIA?
As part of our opening program as the stage for music theatre in 2021, audiences could experience the durational performance Solastalgia. The same artistic team is now continuing their exploration of musical analog catharsis with the nomadic society “Arcadia” at Sydhavnstippen.

Co-production between Sort/Hvid, Metropolis – Copenhagen International Theatre and Other Story
